Summary of Work
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Student Loan Origination Representative to guide student loan applications through the origination process while mitigating risk and ensuring adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending regulations, and Bank of North Dakota guidelines. This role is responsible for managing application progression, validating documentation through routine queue processing, reconciling reports, and configuring disbursements.
In this position, you will maintain clear and professional communication with customers, providing personalized repayment guidance to help borrowers navigate their financial obligations. You will also support various student loan products and respond to customer inquiries through verbal and written correspondence. Building and maintaining strong relationships with partner schools and their financial aid offices is essential, as is serving as a key resource for financial aid representatives by offering dedicated support and fostering collaboration.
Additional responsibilities include performing standardized work within Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Adobe; collaborating with internal departments to enhance efficiency; and navigating multiple systems and platforms to effectively support student loan operations while communicating system nuances to team members.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience performing customer service activities and administrative duties related to loan origination. College-level coursework in accounting, business administration, banking, or finance may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Direct years of student loan experience may carry more weight than indirect banking experience.
