In an effort to streamline the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the FAFSA Simplification Act was passed in 2020. The goals of the act are to expand eligibility for federal financial aid, reduce barriers for certain student populations and offer better user experience for the FAFSA form.
To help students and their families understand the changes, high school administrators and counselors may request in-person or virtual FAFSA presentations from Bank of North Dakota. If you are interested in hosting an in-person presentation, you must agree to the following when completing this request.
- Advertise the event to junior and senior students and their parents, as well as parents of recent graduates.
- Invite schools that are located within 30 minutes of your school and collaborate to advertise the event to their junior and senior students, as well as parents of recent graduates.
- Register students and parents in advance of the event to determine attendance.
- Understand that Bank of North Dakota may request a change to a virtual event for low attendance or in the case of inclement weather.
