Summary of Work
The Loan Operations Specialist will have the knowledge and skills to support transaction processing and daily balancing for BND’s extensive loan portfolio, which includes more than 115 loan programs spanning direct, participation, administered, buydown, and student loans.
The Loan Operations Specialist will be responsible for balancing the Bank’s direct, participation, and administered loan portfolios across three institutions; reconciling outsourced servicing portfolios; and researching and resolving discrepancies to maintain data integrity. The selected candidate will process loan payments, disbursements, payoffs, student loan consolidations, and other loan maintenance tasks, ensuring all transactions are accurately posted. They will also verify loan data before disbursement, activate loans, manage buydown calculations, and work closely with partner institutions to resolve discrepancies and support accurate reporting.
Additional responsibilities include processing residential real estate loan modifications, non-accruals, and charge-offs; assisting in training new staff; and helping identify and implement training and development opportunities. The selected candidate will also support a wide range of projects such as system upgrades, tax reporting reconciliation, data mapping, testing, and software implementation activities. They may assist with records retention, forms management, procedure development, business analytics reporting, and identifying process efficiencies. The Loan Operations Specialist may also attend relevant training and conferences to stay current with loan operations technologies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for the Loan Operations Specialist III position, you must have an associate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a closely related field and two years of experience in banking involving bookkeeping, bank cashiering, or office support duties. The hiring authority may substitute accredited accounting or banking course work for the required work experience if it provided the knowledge and skills required to perform the core competencies of the position to be filled.
If unable to find qualified candidates, the hiring authority will consider an underfill as a Loan Operations Specialist II. Loan Operations Specialist II requires an associate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a closely related field of study and 12 months’ work experience in banking involving bookkeeping, bank cashiering, or office support duties. The hiring authority may substitute accredited accounting or banking course work for the required work experience if it provided the knowledge and skills required to perform the core competencies of the position to be filled.
