Only 750 of the 1.5” coins containing 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver were stamped to celebrate this unique institution, the only state-owned bank in the United States. The front side recalls the Bank’s mission statement “To promote agriculture, commerce and industry” which has remained unchanged for its 100 years of existence. The back side of the coin features the Bank of North Dakota building that was built in 2008.

This 1.5” custom antique brass coin is chemically aged to build up a rich antique coating which accentuates the coin’s intricate details. Each coin is individually coated with fine jewelers lacquer to protect the finish. The Dakota Institute was established in 2010 by the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation. Along with the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn, the Dakota Institute became part of North Dakota Parks and Recreating in 2015. In 2017 The Dakota Institute became a part of Bismarck State College and is managed by Bismarck State College’s business and management students.
