Professional Associations invited to double their scholarship offers

Bismarck, ND – Bank of North Dakota has provided North Dakota Dollars for Scholars with $50,000 to use as match dollars for a new scholarship program. The program allows professional associations to double their scholarship dollars offered to students. When the association commits $500 – $1,500 to North Dakota Dollars for Scholars for three years, the amount is doubled by the match funds and distributed in $1,000 scholarship amounts, up to three per year.

The association must focus on supporting professions that promote agriculture, commerce and industry in North Dakota. Parameters such as year in school, majors and grade point average are determined by the association. Those already taking advantage of the program include the ND Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics, ND Bankers Association, Independent Community Bankers of ND, ND CPA Foundation and Professional Insurance Agents of ND.

North Dakota Dollars for Scholars accepts the applications for the scholarships and awards them based on the criteria established by the professional association, lightening the load on volunteers. If an association is interested in establishing a scholarship with North Dakota Dollars for Scholars, they should contact Laura Fiedler at 701.328.5653 or lentzel@nd.gov or visit northdakota.dollarsforscholars.org.
